Start a match

Step into the ring against a friend as boxers from Hajime no Ippo. Choose your characters, set the venue and rules, and fight a one-on-one bout.

Both players need the same PSP game build and a compatible, up-to-date PSP Core. If using a translation patch or mod, install the same version. These instructions describe the original Japanese menus.

1. Install the game in advance. If needed, update PSP Core over your existing installation.
2. If you are creating the room: select Hajime no Ippo Portable at multiplayer.androidapplications.store, create a room, open the game and send your friend the invitation.
3. If you are joining: open the invitation, enter the password if required and press “Join and launch game”. If the game does not open, launch it manually and paste the invitation into the internet-play menu.
4. Open エキシビション, the third main-menu option (Exhibition). Then select Player1 VS Player2.
5. Select your friend's nickname in ワイヤレスLAN通信リスト, the wireless player list. Wait for the connection and character selection screen.
6. Choose your boxers and confirm your selections.
7. On the settings screen, agree on the venue and rules. The player controlling match settings selects 試合開始 (Start match). Wait for the bout to load.
