Start a match

Challenge a friend to a one-on-one street fight. Pick your fighters, venue and rules, then settle the rivalry in a Def Jam showdown.

Both players need the same PSP game build and a compatible, up-to-date PSP Core. These instructions are for two players. Menu labels refer to the English version.

1. Install the game in advance. If needed, update PSP Core over your existing installation.
2. If you are creating the room: select Def Jam® Fight For NY™: The Takeover at multiplayer.androidapplications.store, create a room, open the game and send your friend the invitation.
3. If you are joining: open the invitation, enter the password if required and press “Join and launch game”. If the game does not open, launch it manually and paste the invitation into the internet-play menu.
4. Select Ad Hoc from the main menu. Wait for your friend to appear in MATCHING LIST.
5. Match host: Select your friend in MATCHING LIST and press × to send a challenge.
6. Other players: Accept the incoming challenge by selecting YES.
7. Match host: Select ONE ON ONE on the CHOOSE MATCH TYPE screen, then pick a venue in CHOOSE VENUE and rules in PICK YOUR RULES.
8. Other players: Confirm the match settings in the FIGHT INFO window.
9. When CHOOSE FIGHTER appears, pick your fighter and confirm with ×. Wait for your opponent to finish choosing and for the fight to load.
